Klapt

Privacy Policy

Last updated October 2, 2026

Klapt (klapt.ai) turns a website link and a short brief into a launch video. This policy explains what we collect to do that, why, which providers process it on our behalf, and how you can see or delete it. We collect only what the product needs, we never sell personal data, and we don't use it for advertising.

What we collect

  • Account details. Your email address. If you sign in with Google, we also receive your name, profile picture and email from Google. We don't receive your Google password or access to your Google data beyond that basic profile.
  • What you give us to make a video. Your brief, the website address you enter, and the edit requests you type.
  • What we generate. Scripts, narration, music, sound effects, images, video clips and the exported MP4 files for your videos, plus the text and screenshot we read from the website you entered.
  • Credits. Your credit balance and a history of how credits were granted and spent.
  • Payments. What you bought and when, and the state of a monthly plan. Card details are entered on Dodo Payments' checkout; we never see or store your card number.
  • Waitlist and notifications. If you joined the waitlist or asked to be told when paid plans open, your email and anything you wrote in that form.
  • Technical data. Sign-in cookies that keep you logged in, and standard server logs (such as IP address, browser and time of request) kept by our hosting providers for security and debugging.

How we use it

  • To create your account, sign you in and keep your session secure.
  • To make, edit and export your videos, and to keep your versions so you can restore them.
  • To track your credits and stop abuse.
  • To email you about your account, and about paid plans only if you asked us to.
  • To fix problems and keep the service running.

We don't use your briefs, websites or videos to train AI models. The AI providers below process them only to produce your video, under their API terms.

Who processes your data

Klapt is built on these providers, who process data on our behalf only to run the service:

  • Supabase: accounts, sign-in and our database.
  • Google: "Sign in with Google", if you use it.
  • Vercel: hosting the website and app.
  • PostHog (EU): product analytics, so we can see which pages and features get used.
  • Anthropic (Claude): writing and editing the script and checking the finished frames.
  • ElevenLabs: narration, music and sound effects.
  • Higgsfield: generated images and video clips.
  • Firecrawl: reading the website you enter, including a screenshot of it.
  • Cloudflare R2: storing generated media and exported videos.
  • Amazon Web Services: rendering the final MP4 (via Remotion Lambda).
  • Dodo Payments: checkout, payments, subscriptions and invoices, as our merchant of record.

These providers may store and process data in the United States and other countries.

Your videos and their links

Generated media and exported MP4 files are stored at long, unguessable web addresses so they can play in the studio and be downloaded. Anyone who has one of those links can open that file, so share them only with people you want to see the video. Your studio, scripts and version history are private to your account.

How long we keep it

We keep your account, videos and credit history while your account is open. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your account, videos and generated files from our systems within 30 days; copies in provider backups and logs expire on those providers' own schedules.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete your account and everything in it. Email contact@klapt.ai from the address on your account and we'll reply within 30 days. Depending on where you live (for example in the EU or UK), you may also have the right to object to or restrict processing and to complain to your data protection authority.

You can remove Klapt's access to your Google account at any time from your Google Account settings, under third-party connections.

Cookies

We use cookies to keep you signed in, and a first-party PostHog cookie so our analytics can tell one visit from the next. Your light or dark theme choice is remembered in your own browser. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Children

Klapt is for people aged 16 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from children.

Changes and contact

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and tell signed-in users. Questions or requests: contact@klapt.ai.
